Reviews
Apart from the re-selling
issues, this system is much better than I expected. Seeing all the Amazon.com
reviews, I figured something referring to the actual product should be written
for those who want to know about it.
I upgraded from the original 3DS, and the MMN3DSXL is a large jump. I'm still getting used to the new size and new buttons, but the design on the top is well done and it's surprisingly light for its size. It runs noticeably faster, the nfc reader is very convenient, and I enjoy having a second analog stick without having to buy a circle pad pro. I have yet to use the 3D, but I view that as more of a novelty than anything else - I simply enjoy playing the games, and this system does just that.
The only real drawback I can find with all of these new systems is the micro sd card location. Without a philips size 0 screwdriver, it is impossible to remove the micro sd to upgrade to a larger card. The 4GB storage is a fair amount if you stick to physical games like me though. Another issue is that it does not come with a power cord, but I had one already and they're fairly easy to obtain, so it does not make me think any less of the system.
If you are somehow able to get this system at MSRP for personal use, I highly suggest it. This is my first special edition system, and I have no regrets in buying it.

Beautiful front cover design, awesome button
layout, face tracking 3D (which was promised with the first 3DS), amiibocompatibility, and it's faster (load times shorter, downloads faster).
Cons: Does NOT come with AC adapter or Majora's Mask game (downloadable code would have been nice), Cartridge slot located in awkward position where a game could be ejected by accident, more expensive than the standard 3DS XL (which DOES come with an AC adapter), and you Have to unscrew backplate to take out Memory card and transfer memory.
Not an essential upgrade at this point, unless you want to experience Xenoblade Chronicles 3D or if your old 3DS is busted.

A legit straight upgrade,
faster, more comfortable, than the Regular 3DS XL !
I just whished they didn't put the headphone jack on the bottom, you can't lean correctly if you play on a table.
The design is great too !
